Coleman Digital Compass Instructions

Model #: 2000001936

These are all based on just playing around with the device. This is not complete. If I ever find the manual, I'll type up the rest. Email me if you have any more instructions to add.

Setting the Time

Press the MODE button until "TIME" mode is displayed.

Hold down the CLK button for about three seconds.

12/24 hour time mode is displayed.

Press SEL to change the value.

Press either the center diamond button, or the CLK button to move to the next value to change.

Calibrating the Compass

Press the MODE button until "COMP" (compass) mode is displayed.

Press and hold the ALM button for about three seconds.

The display will show "CAL" mode.

Hold the compass flat in your hand, face up.

Press the SEL button to begin calibration.

Rotate the compass slowly through 360 degrees. Seems to work best if you go around three or four times.

Press the ALM button to complete the calibration.

Setting Declination

Press the MODE button until "COMP" (compass) mode is displayed.

Press and hold the ALM button for about three seconds.

The display will show "CAL" mode.

Press the ALM button to enter "dEC" mode.

Use the SEL button to adjust each value and the ALM button to move between values.

Don't forget to set the final value from "off" to "on" or else declination will not be used.

Stopwatch

Press the MODE button until "SW" (stopwatch) mode is displayed.

Press ALM to start/stop the stopwatch.

While the stopwatch is running, SEL is the lap button.

While the stopwatch is stopped, hold down SEL to clear the stopwatch.

The CLK and diamond buttons switch between "LA" (lap) display and "SP" (split?) display.

Min/Max Temperature

While in "TIME" mode, press the SEL button to see min/max temperature. To reset the min/max, press (and release) SEL to display min/max temp, then hold down the SEL button for about three seconds.

Alarm Set

Go to TIME mode.

Press the ALM button to switch the display from day/month mode to alarm mode.

Press and hold the ALM button for about three seconds to enter alarm set mode.

Use the SEL button to change values, and the ALM button to move to the next value to set.

Turn It Off

There's no way to turn it off, but it should use less power in clock mode. You could also pull the battery. Regardless, I've had one sitting around for years, and the battery's fine.
